Maggie O’Farrell has written one other nice historic novel. On this ebook she writes about Lucrezia de’ Medici, who was married at a younger age to Alfonso, Duke of Ferrara within the 1500s. She lived solely two extra years after the wedding and died when she was 17. The circumstances surrounding her dying had been mysterious and a few accounts say she died of tuberculosis, however others suppose she might need been poisoned.
O’Farrell brings us into this world and creates an interesting character in Lucrezia. We care deeply for this lady who’s fierce and unbiased, but so younger and unable to be accountable for her personal future.
The story begins with Lucrezia realizing that her husband is plotting to kill her. The story goes again in forth in time as Lucrezia is close to dying after which again to her childhood and marriage.
The ebook is completely compelling and O’Farrell has turned Lucrezia’s story right into a page-turner.
